Subject: Re: My observation from a recent trip to Illinois

New London, Wisconsin
Yep, Wisconsin and Illinois are not even on the same page in this department. It's changed a lot in the past 30 years. Drunk driving laws have really ramped up putting many chronic offenders in the pokey. In other words you should have seen what it WAS like!

Actually, La Crosse Wisconsin has 375 bars in that city with a 2009 population of 51,818 so with some simple math that is .00723 bars per person or 138.18 people per bar.
My son is a cop there and he stays very busy.

Hurley, Wisconsin has 32 bars with a 2009 population of 1,509. making it .0212 bars per person or about 1 bar for every 47 people.

In northern Wisconsin people don't use street names to navigate. Seriously! If you stop and ask for directions, they will tell you to go north on this road until you get to Phil's still, then turn left go until you see Papy's bar. Then right until the the dew drop inn. It's near there.

Finally to be fair, or more correctly to be profitable in this era, most of these places have good food and friday fish fry's

Come on up and join the party, but don't ever drink and drive.
