Subject: Re: Shooting a target 1000 yds away

West Central Wisconsin
I have shot out to 600 yards at a 24" target with my SAKO TRG-S, in .300 Win mag. I use a Shepherd scope http://www.shepherdscopes.com/ with 24" elk reticle and placed all three shots in about 10-12" group with 200 grain Nosler Partitians, (elk loads). After shooting that group I feel it would not be too far out of the realm for me to attempt 1,000 yards with proper bullet and handloads. I know there is a big difference between 600 and 1,000 yards but IF I can do my part I think I could get on paper. The problem I would have would be doping for wind, something I don't know anything about. Joe
