I've had one a couple of years. Got it at Walmart on closeout, believe its a Sanyo. Works great a lot easier to use than a computer to record vhs tapes. Don't have any of the problems that you have with a capture card. Have never used it to record from a tv. Mine doesn't have the built in vhs tape in it. Wish it did, it would be easier to dub them.
