Subject: RE: Maximizing forage on 80 acres for cow/calf operation

you took the words right outta my mouth!....   with the  prospect of   4 dollar corn,   I've  fall  planted  1 1/2  circles to  rye and trit..  and  plan on planting  the other half to oats and peas...   IF  it rains,  and  our  native hay looks  good in  July,    I might  go back and plant a super early bean.   If Not,  I'll go with a  millet or  forage/sudan  for  late  harvest.

Whether it  rains here or not,    there are a lot of  traders eyes on  I-35  corridor  (east  being  ample moisture)  and  all it will take is   good planting weather to drive it down...
...........or  I might be totally  wrong too......   I'd rather  have a yard full of  forage!
