We took out a cancer policy with Conseco, now Washington National, 4-5 years ago. Wife had thyroid cancer last year & they paid us quite a bit more than what we have paid in. Policy pays the insured directly and on top of what our regular health ins pays. After 20 yrs we get our premiums back, whether we used the insurance or not.
