Central Ky. | Here's one my Mom has had for as long as I can remember. Since having them my step-daughter won't eat the mix from a box (neighbors won't either).
2 cups all purpose flour
3/4 teaspoon salt
6 teaspoons baking powder
1 tablespoon sugar
2 eggs
2 cups milk
2 tablespoons melted shoutening
Mix dry ingredients together. Beat eggs & milk together and add to dry ingredients and beat thoroughly. Stir in melted shortening. Pour batter onto a hot griddle and bake until bubbles appear, turn and bake other side. Add more milk if thinner batter is desired.
We've been using plain milk but plan to try buttermilk, your choice. | |
