BHTN, since you "sit on the other side of the desk", I will ask you this question..... are there some documents that the attorney would not want to hand over to the client, for whatever reason?
Or should the attorney be expected to hand over all documents in the file, when the relationship ends? Personally, I like the idea that Chris and you suggested - have the new attorney request the files. It just seems more professional to me. |
