Near Intersection of I-35 & I-90 Southern Mn. | Have a friend that went to Seattle this weekend to tour the nuclear sub that the son is on. He said that they were going to try to work in the Boeing tour but they are on a tight time schedule. I understand that they went on a Boeing tour before.
I said it would be interesting to hear their side of the battery issue with the 787. I haven't had a chance to hear how the trip went.
He asked if I would be interested in seeing the sub some time in the future. I said yes but I figured it would be limited to close relation. He said that the Navy does do a background check on the individuals taking the tour.
He said that at times, the parents are allowed to actually be on the sub while they are running. I guess they take the parents off shore on a boat that meets up with the sub. They transfer to the sub, submerge and make their way to shore. We agreed that should be quite an experience. He plans on doing this if possible. |
