I just looked, my Manfrotto is a 190, I think that 290 series would work well for you.  I am going to try a 1.4 teleconverter, but want to get out further than that.  If by chance we are caught up enough spraying and planting, I may come your direction in June for a jet noise fix at Rockford.  You certainly have enough equipment to at least have a go at the Blue Angels, if you would be interested my email in profile should be good.  And regardless, enjoy talking camera stuff, you, Omar, and other NATers are more than welcome to do that.
