| Wow it must have been time for a lot of us to replace a hip. I got my new right hip on 1-16-13 I insisted and got a direct anterior approach, Dr gave me a ceramic ball on plastic cup. My blood thinner is Xeralto and I got 28 pills, take one each day.
I'm glad to not have to get the shot each day but would do what ever the Dr told me on this subject. I figure that if I trusted him enough to cut into me, dislocate my hip, saw the top of my femur off, cram a titanium rod down the femur, ream out my acetabelum, tap in and screw in place a new acetabular cup and put the new joint together- then how long he has me on blood thinner seems kind of minor. I hope that you and all other HIPies here are recovering as well as I am. I would be interested in which incision procedure others had. I credit my speedy recovery to my great surgeon, how physically fit I am and the type of incision I had. | |
