| I have horned hereford and angus cows. I have an angus and horned hereford bull in with the black cows. The calves will be bwf or black. The bwf heifers bred back to a hf bull will still get a solid black or bwf calf.
I think the bwf cows do better than the straight black or hf cows. They are usually smaller framed and milk just as well as the others if not better. They seem to stay healthier, too.
Bwf calves sell with the solid black calves at the salebarn. | |
