NW Central Ohio
...I've gotten used to wearing a pair of Carhart bibs with either a t-shirt and flannel or t-shirt and sweatshirt under neath them on a regular basis in the winter. If it's blowing and cold...just a hooded Carhart active jacket is all that is needed for when you're active...and if you are heading to a farm auction...just add a down vest underneath it. They cut down the wind that blows through your jeans and sweatshirt material...

...For boots...I think I'd get some 800 gram Thinsulated with a pair of 2 buckle overshoes for them. And then I'd get a boot dryer that dries them out completely overnight. Someone once told me if you want your boots to last a long time...buy 2 pairs when you get fitted, and alternate them every other day. They say the moisture trapped in a leather boot is what causes them to fail most often.
