880 lbs per was the highest and new record high one week avg in 012, vs 862 lbs in 011.
weights seasonally peak in late oct / 1st nov then decline thru spring ( lightest cattle are generally in april ).
that was not the case in the fall of 011 as carcass weights actually increased thru dec 011 and thru 012 whole year.
carcass weights last week ie 1/11/13 were 802 lbs ( steers and hiefers ).
same frame in 012 carcass weights were 780 lbs.
we're going to set new record high carcass weights in 013.
011 was a record and 012 was the last record high weights
perhaps going to be plenty of beef around with carcass weights moving 20lbs higher per animal every year.
