Subject: Vertical mixer knife configuration.

NW Illinois
I have a Trioliet Solomix 1-1000 that I feed with.

My yard isn't at all handy to make up Rations, commodities are spread all over, Hay here, Silage over there, etc etc.

The last ration for the day, I load the Corn Silage first then put in the Hay last, so here comes the problem, that dry long stemmed Hay will not mix in, it just goes round and round the tub.

What do you think of the idea of putting a stationary knife mid way up the side(or so) on the outside of the tub pointing in, or something to break up the spinning action, copying the idea of the knife added to the Auger only to the outside.

I did just put in all new knifes not long a go, so I don't think that's the problem.

Your thoughts, Please

Dave

As you can see, some don't like the mixing action.
