I would use him if you actually picked out 10 decent heifers they should calve out the extra 2 lbs rather then letting the first 10 in the pen and calling them replacements.
1 check to see if he is AMC/ AMF or NHC/ NHF as you obviously keep your own replacements.
2 Future direction is a calving ease sire so any birth weight will come dam side
3 Calving ease is determined more by shape than weight.
