Subject: Ranching isn't a hobby around here either, its an all day every day thing.

Downtown Shell Knob MO Come Visit!
And thats exactly why they get a little more on Christmas.
If your going to do the same thing all day every day for 60 years you might as well give them good hay/ extra feed/ more bedding on Chistmas and sit back and smile when they look up at you and act like they are smiling back.
Nothing is more fun than watching a cow but around and eat on a bale of straw that they didn't even need, and you not care if they waste it.

Cows make a living on the Cupps farm , (not like those fat corn stalk cattle stocked at 1 cow for every ten acres of 150bu corn stover) most of the stock cows here live there entire lives in a body condition 3 trying to wean a 600 pound calf and we are trying to get our calves to grade choice so a little extra on Christmas never hurt the bottom line on any of them, after all, they probably needed it going into winter.
