sand bedding we went from about 150 - 200 to under 100 and only switched to sand. I thought we did a good job with stall maintaince pasture mats bedded with fine chopped cornstalks. Stalls cleaned every milking(3X) rebedded 3 times a week with lime put down on back third of stall. We added concrete manure pit and switched to sand.
