Molasses is mostly sugar , sugar is energy.
I use 300# of molasses on rye hay and my cows and calves are gaining on it. I am feeding 600# a day of mix.to 26 head with 12 fall calves in there eating a lttle and the cows nursing are staying in good shape and milking great.
