Subject: Liquid beet molasses question

So a friend of mine was saying that he was starting to add liquid molasses in their rations for milk cows and said he could replace corn on a 1lb to 1lb ratio with molasses for energy is that true??

If so I was wondering if I could replace some corn in my Holstein steer rations and still get the same animal performance or if yield or grade would go down?

So as an example how much molasses would i have to add to take out 5 lbs of corn in a ration? Also whats the upper limit on inclusion rate?

Thanks,

Jon
