My understanding on the AMS deal is that it has to be added to the water befor addition of the roundup. The reason being the AMS has to tie up all the attachment points(positive ions) in the water so the roundup won't when it is added. I guess if you had really bad water and added roundup first then added AMS you could come up with a chemical solution that had no active roundup in it.
