| I have a visceral dislike of ponies. They can be horid little creatures. I am happy to hear someone say that they have a "good" pony, they are not a dime a dozen!
That said, AJ is spot on with the boot to the belly solution. I was taught to give the horse a knee or boot to the gut when they turned to nip/bite during grooming and have taught my daughter the same thing. Giving the pony an elbow in the mouth could result in injury to the kid's elbow. Those teeth are hard!
Alternatively, the pony could be tied with their head too short to allow it to turn and bite or it could be put in cross ties.
