Crawford County, Ohio | The later Mac minis can be equipped with dual hard drives. You could put the OS apps and data on one and use the other for backup if you wanted. This would eliminate the need for an external drive. Mac Time Machine makes backups dead simple. You pick the drive for it to use and it does its thing every hour. Once the drive fills up it simply deletes the oldest backup and keeps on going. It only backs up changes since the last backup so it takes a long time to fill a drive.
iCloud only backs up data for apps that are compatible with it. There are getting to be more all the time. I don't know about Quicken or iBooks though. You would have to check into it.
No need for virus protection on a Mac unless you decide to put Windows on it. | |
