east central ND | If you could save up and use vacation to cover a week or two of putting most of the crop in, or take vacation to make a bunch of 4 day weekends during the busy spring, I think it would really help you to stay employed till harvest. Depending on your work schedule, you could even farm a coulple hours before work and a few hours in the evenings after. If I read it right, there will be 900 ac total, even with smaller equipment and long days and some very good lights, if the weather cooperates, should take a couple 3 weeks with the 2 of you. Getting all the equipment ready a month early with very good maintenance should help springs work move a bit faster with less breakdowns also. Might help to even hire something like fertilizer or preplant application so you could speed planting up and keep your income coming in for a few more months. | |
