+1...some good forage varieties but with poor grain milling quality, Big Max as an example if memory is correct...seed was discounted heavy here this fall. I'm running RangeMaster this fall and so far so good despite dry conditions....need one more rain before rotating cows into it....early vigor and tillering were good.

We wait until whole field is past first tillering to start grazing and then also rotate for rest recovery availability. Pull stock before first joint or first hollow stem for grain. For cows in good condition, allow access to longstem hay....not necessary for stocker calves unless under snow/ice cover.
