NC IA | It will work great for running a sprayer pump, they have piston pumps (PFC) hydraulics. So you can vary your pump speed with your flow control in the cab. As far as everything else, they skipped the field testing step on IHs test farm and left that up to the farmer. They drive the front end with the same 1-inch wide spur gear that serves as the same park gear/reverse idler gear on a 2wd tractor. Was designed for FWA on an 806, not full-time front team no-slip pull on a 2+2. Have changed several of those gears with teeth blown off, it is a full rear-end job when it happens. They tried to updated it to a wider gear in the 60 series, they might be a bit better. And they couldn't even use 1486 size axles, even a 37 is same as 986. And yes the front end is odd, like someone else said. Hard to keep the AC working, long lines and constantly flexing hoses. Buy one cheap and don't pull it hard and you might be ok. Happy Thanksgiving.
