sgroff - 11/21/2012 05:45 Already being done with moderate success. Ray McComrmick from SW IN has a modified gandy unit mounted on the head of his combine set up to blow cover crop seed under each row between the snapping rolls. I understand Gandy is gearing up to make units for corn heads- don't know about grain heads. Dwayne Beck (SD) has a different set up that accomplishes the same result. It's a great idea and if you are willing to sacrifice a little time on the combine to fill the seed hopper it'll be much faster than running a separate planting operation. I have pictures somewhere and may try to post later today. You are not half nuts!!!!!
Driving thru the soybeans with a spinner spreader (or air boom) prior to leaf drop may be the better approach.
