Humeston, IA | I've been putting on 150-200 lbs/ac/yr for the last two years of cal-sul (pel gypsum) primarily for the sulfur. Not as cost effective as powdered gypsum, I admit, but works well in a fertilizer mix. Ol' Crop Life said I was a fool for doing this, should be using 500-1000 lbs per acre. Perhaps, but I'm not sure if we have access to such quantities and product. LawFarm, I work with Agriland FS to apply the cal-sul. Too early to tell, but soil samples this coming spring should tell if my sulfur levels are coming up. | |
