We're over 8000 hours on our 8770 with no internal engine work... you guys are making me wonder if I should be worried.
I am no expert on these tractors by any means. I've just had multiple people warn of potential engine weakness in the 8760's. I have never heard anyone say anything about the 70 series. They may have changed something from the 60's to the 70's. I don't even know if it's the same engine as a 60 series. I'm sure someone on here know way more about it than me. I wouldn't worry to much about it though. At 8000 hrs. I'll bet that tractor doesn't owe you much and if the engine does go at some point it will be way cheaper to replace the engine go through the transmission and put some tires and paint on it, than it will be to upgrade to a low houred 9X20, 9X30 series 4WD. |
