Southern MN | I have never tried this, but wouldn't it make more sense to have a 1 inch diameter hole in the floor, and then have a 1/2" rod on the door that drops into that hole. You could rig up a nice rod on the inside of the door that goes up and down, and since you have a large hole in the floor already if you just cover that with a plate of steel with a 1" hole in it, leaving a large open area underneath for dirt to disappear into, I think you would have a better solution that Morton provided. Only one door would anchor to the floor, the second door would anchor to the first door so you would always have to open/close the second door before the first one (at least from the outside). | |
