Subject: next summer's cover crop

SC Kansas
We usually double crop soybeans after wheat, but next year I'd like to plant some of a field to a cover crop blend instead, out of curiosity. We'd be going to either milo or corn, so something with N-fixing, as well as cover is something I'd be looking for. The blend I sort of came up with using Greencover Seed's calculator, includes sunhemp, cowpeas, sorghum/sudan, and radishes. My problem is that's only going to be in the 20# range, and we'd probably use an air rig and turbo till it in, or drill it. I don't know if our drill could go that low, and I know the air rig couldn't, so something would have to be added as a carrier, probably 18-46 or something. Would this give us a good guage as to the following crop if it is managed differently (adding more phos) or will that be part of our experiment?
