I was thinking of red or crimson clover as a legume that would/should overwinter for you.  I can't speak on canola directly as I haven't seen it here but, that is another good thought. 

It is dangerous to make recomendations when not familiar with the area.  But, using some common principles: you want to follow cover crop with corn so you should lean toward the legumes of course.  Here, a cover crop that overwinters is desirable in order to have something growing moisture out in the spring so a legume that overwinters is desirable.  Clover fits those two criteria very well.  Adding the other warm season legumes and broadleafs you've mentioned seems very advantageous.
