This is a book from the conservative think tank, The American Enterprise Institute which describes the recent rise of and the dangers of extremism and gridlock:
Getting back to the OP question, this is in my opinion, the biggest danger to the Livestock Industry, and about every other industry in America.

After a brief look at your link, the book seems to be heralded by liberals as right on. I guess "extremism" is all relative. Our founding fathers were certainly viewed as extremists. And I'm sure they would view what is happening in our country today as extremism.
I will read further in the link later. I'm sure the Bible is considered as extremism. A commentator this evening noted that the Republican party has a religous base and that will complicate efforts to compromise with the Democratic party. So be it! That is no danger to any part of the America I see and our forefathers saw.
