SC Iowa | "huge crop"??? absolutely not....but it is still 10 billion + a few hundred million.....and right now, exports have been pathetic, although I eventually expect to see more biz out of US as alternate supplies dwindle next 60-90 days......we'll have to see how the exports/imports balance themeselves out.....some of these plays were set in motion several months ago when economics "worked" more favorably...
I can see ethanol struggling to maintain a 4.4 byn bushel annualized rate .....production may be highly regionalized as plants in NW cornbelt run 100% and eastern plants limp along with downtime, reduced rates, or on again/off again running plans
beans are a true "two major growing regions" scenario.....and when supplies are tight we are going to have to get used to seeing 90% of the demand in six months instead of 100% in a year..... | |
