central - east central Minnesota -

brownaugj - 10/25/2012 21:19 Here is the new nuisance ordnance passed April of 2012. Land purchased was a tree nursery and now is a corn field, but some is within a village of 250. Ordinance No. 420 Section 1 of the ordinance reads: Paragraph 13 of Section II. “Nuisances include, but are not limited to, the following: to permit or allow any cows, horses, pigs, chickens, turkeys, geese or other farm livestock to be or remain on any private or public property within the Village of LaFayette or to engage in any commercial farming for the production and harvesting of any agricultural or horticultural products on any private or public property within the Village of LaFayette.” Land is zoned agriculture and has been used for horticultue since 1887. http://www.countyenews.com/local-news7/1252-lafayette-ordinance-spa... http://www.countyenews.com/local-news7/1252-lafayette-ordinance-spa...

I doubt it would hold up in court . . . .
It could be forced, the village to buy the land, if they wanted to force the issue. State court may allow that . . . .
