The hay squeeze gets asked to do lots of things. I try and help everyone out, but anymore I'm not afraid to charge, and charge well. It takes time away from loading hay and I'm not really in the mobile crane business. I've gotten a lot better at saying no over time. Still do a lot of pumps, and load ring rollers and stuff, but that is usually an emergency situation (irrigation pump swap) or an easy "at my convenience" type of deal.
Other things are a pipe trailer that will haul 8 wheeline pipes, with the 7' wheels still on. I never used it but everyone else did so I sold it. I trade a lot of implements with friends that reciprocate, so it doesn't bother me. I do own 1000' of 8" mainline that I'd really like to find out who has, its been out on rent for a couple years, and that person loaned it to another person, who loaned it to another person, etc. My solid set is the same way, but at least the rent is still getting paid on it. | |
