Growers is a liquid fertilizer company who's philosophy is based on VA Tjedgens book, Better Crops With Better Soils I think it is called, great read. Some of their staunch members claim you can't get too much lime on but I have seen it done to detrement.

Like Joel says, it's darned hard to get pH above 8.3 or so, even with heavy and frequent applications of dolomitic lime.
