Subject: capitalism vs socialism

Pittsburg, Kansas

Greed is how socialists refer to capitalism. Capitalism is a person looking out for his own best interests in a free trade environment, expecting others to do the same. If the trade is honest and fair both parties should benefit as both entered into the trade freely and based on their own desires. Neither socialism nor capitalism is perfect. They both have advantages and drawbacks. Capitalism appears to have a longer lifespan and be more workable but without safeguards in place eventually the more able and/or more aggressive end up with a bigger piece of the pie. Socialism is supposed to be for the good of the whole but it ends up in the same pickle as capitalism in that the more able and/or aggressive politically end up with a bigger piece of the pie. Financially capable and aggressive tend to do better in capitalism. Politically capable and aggressive tend to be the winners in socialism.

Right now, it appears we are attempting to get the worst of both worlds.

Just an opinion.

John
