Northern Illinois | Landlords and other bidders don't care what anyone of us sells our product for. If I sell my corn in '12 at $7 and neighbor sells for $9 who do you think is going to be farming that 80 that becomes available or who is going to be the high bidder at a land auction. Yes we need to be happy to take a profit but in this day of competitive land markets sometimes we need to do better then just taking a small (compared to others) profit. Landlords like bright new equipment. They like to ride around in a new combine vs an old 7720, they like to to see the newest GPS at work in the planter. | |
