Central Illinois | Cutting soybeans this fall, I noticed alot more rabbits than normal. About that time a coyote started hanging within 20 feet of the combine. Watched him try to catch a rabbit for over an hour with no luck. Went to the elevator expecting the coyote to be gone , but he was still hanging around. As the field got smaller, the rabbits got unlucky. He killed and ate four in less than an hour. I had enough so I stopped and got out, grabbed the rotor rocking wrench off the combine and headed for him. He did not leave until then. This is in a residential area with lots of people at four in the afternoon. I don't carry a gun because this is Illinois and the area I was in could cause me a lot of grief. | |
