Subject: RE: How do I start farming in a new region?

central - east central Minnesota -

Patriot81 - 10/9/2012 06:56 I have been contemplating expanding my farming operation to an area of my state about 65 miles south of my current location. My reasons for doing so are quality and availability of land and diversification. How do I move to a new area and rent land without making a bunch of enemies of my new neighbors?

Ya, I doubt that . ..  .. . the BTO from up north comm'ng in raising our rents take'n our land away ~
Better get thick skin and let it roll off .. .
Otherwise, if custom work in that area is possible, planting, harvesting, spraying ~
Gets your foot in the door to establish relationships . . .
Or, put an add in the local paper or send out mailbox flyers ~  "Willing to pay $25 - $100 dollars an acre more they you are currently recieving for rent"
That'll get you lots of hits . . . . . .. .
