I vote for propane too. You can also buy a gas furnace that has over 90% efficiency if you go with propane which you can not do with fuel oil.


That said, a ground source heat pump will cost a lot more up front, but it will save you money for both heating and cooling in the long run. Also, you might be able to get some kind of a price break or tax break for installing the heat pump.
