Sac & Story county IA | The problem is a guy gets under grain that is standing upright. Too wet grain and sticking together, crusting, spoiling, whatever you want t call it. When it comes down, it covers the person. That ladder deal is fine but the person is knocked down by the avalanche of grain and is covered and helpless. Even if you are upright, if you are in deeper than your waist, you can't move enough to breathe.
"either another person in their with you or have someone watching you through the door in case they needed to go run and turn the augers off."
The work rules are now that no one be in a bin with an auger running.
Bitch about too many rules but there are way too many fatalities doing exactly that. Somebody being dead isn't an acceptable end to a workday. | |
