That sounds like what used to be called Rumaki which was often chicken liver and water chestnut wrapped in bacon and broiled. It is supposed to be a Japanese or Polynesian recipe. I have not seen it for many years. But they say there are no new ideas, we just recycle the old ones every 15 years.
