I think it's easier to teach kids a good work ethic when you're a farmer, which is why farm kids are usually more mature and harder workers. I think it's easier because they see what you do to make a living all of the time, they see you working, they see the success, they see the failures and how the amount of work and smart management affects success. City kids just know their parents leave for 9-12 hours a day to work and they maintain their standard of living. They only see their parents during their time off. IMO, they believe that when they start working full time, they expect the standard of living their parents had immediately, because they do not see what it takes to be successful at their jobs. Maybe one of the issues we're seeing today?
