NE Iowa | Looking for a new-to-me truck. Have a couple possibilities that have UltraShift (2-pedal) transmissions. This is for field to bin and bin to town hauling - longest haul is 7-8 miles, most shorter than that. Almost all trips require some type of moving the truck a couple feet at a time - either to move from 1 trap to the other when unloading, or moving it a couple feet at a time when loading out of the bin. Had 1 guy tell me I would not like the UltraShift for this type of thing - says you can't modulate the clutch very well when taking off, since clutch is operated in conjunction with the throttle with right foot. Anyone here with experience to say whether this was good or bad advice?
I haven't driven one, yet. Won't have a chance to try one loaded, but could get a feel for this bobtail style.
Thanks,
