most of that is for dust suppression.. quarries and mines are under heavy regulations for dust regulations as i have been told
That water is usually added during the crushing process. Yes, dust is a big issue, but it doesn't take much water to keep the crusher dust down. Running sprinklers on top a pile of crushed rock is different. It does help compaction, and for jobs without water trucks is very important, but some places I worked they made sure they were selling all the water they could... ;) | |
