big difference in what they can eat and what they need to eat. In new mexico they eat 3 lbs of soaked corn and lick rocks, here they eat a little better than that, but sure don't need much more than roughage an at the most 10 lb. of silage/day, 5 or 6 lbs. of ddg every other day with free choice cornstalks would be plenty
