No performance product can accurately claim a blanket savings of "X" percent. It depends on the tractor and work it's doing. Another thing to consider is gallons per hour VS gallons per acre. If your machine is under powered, a good tune will definitely give you savings per acre due to additional productivity. eg. an 8270r pulling a ripper was burning 1.1 gal/acre stock. After software reprogramming his consumption dropped to 0.8 gal/acre. This is largely due to the fact his machine was pulling the implement at full throttle with stock tune, but after reprogramming is able to throttle back a bit while increasing his speed . I would not lump all chips or tuning products into the same category. Check out your options because in-expensive pressure boxes might not be the healthiest way to go.
