| We have found that the flex draper shines in virtually all conditions, but it is great in short beans. The problem with a flexhead (auger type) in short beans is that it is impossible to keep the reel low enough without cutting off fingers when the bar flexes up. The split reel on the flex draper allows the reel to hug the bar more closely, so the beans don't sit on the platform letting the reel hit them again and again shelling them until the bunch gets big enough to be brought to the center by the auger. The draper itself also helps keep this clearing action flowing smoothly. Use a flexdraper and you will never go back.
