I would think any kind of rock dam would be a huge hinderance to cutting super short beans. I already have a low dam. If I were to do anything to ours to help, I would add some "paddle" type fingers to help throw them onto the belt. Even better would be an air-reel such as mcfarm mentioned, but the cost of one makes it of no interest to me...
